Performance
These 50-watt solid-state radomes have a range of 20 to 48 nautical miles, even in fog or rain. They also offer a rotation speed of up to 60 rpm, providing a refresh rate that detects motion at any speed. This time they are available in black or white, so you can match them to your vessel.
MotionScope uses the Doppler effect to highlight moving targets in different colors, allowing you to navigate around other vessels or in rough weather, or to fishing spots where birds feed at the surface.
By connecting the GMR 18 x antenna to a multifunction display and an optional heading sensor, you can take advantage of the MARPA function which allows you to obtain navigation status information of other vessels such as heading, course and speed, for up to 10 targets at the same time.
Connecting to the network
The GMR 18 x antenna can be connected to the existing Garmin Marine Network in a 'plug and play' manner. Once connected, the multifunction displays of the onboard system can display the information coming from the antenna.
