SE80 Bow/Stern Tunnel Thruster, 12V
80kg thrust, on/off
Item Code: SE80/185T-12V
The SE80 provides 80-96kg of thrust, suitable for a wide range of vessels between 35 and 48ft. Using the same mechanical parts as the even more powerful SE100 makes it an exceptionally energy efficient thruster and therefore a very popular model.
It mounts in a tunnel at the bow of the boat or in a stern tunnel at the stern of the boat using a stern thruster kit (sold separately).
remote control is a popular accessory. Below are some of the most important features of the product and safety.
Characteristics
INTELLIGENT POWER CONTROL
The unique Sleipner Thruster Controller that intelligently protects the thruster from potential problems inherent in all high current applications, as well as from user failure. It includes several important safety features that are indispensable in such a high power product, driven by DC electrical components, such as a thruster.
- Provides a delay between driving directions
- Monitor solenoid functions to reduce the possibility of solenoid lockup
- Stops the engine in case of stuck solenoid, without any additional action from the user and even without checking the main switch.
Q-PROP™
Special 5-blade slanted propellers are designed to reduce noise levels while maintaining exceptional efficiency. Some propeller models even see a 5% increase in thrust. For more details, see the individual information on your preferred propeller model.
- Noise reductions of up to 75% measured in controlled environments
- Normal noise reduction expected and tested in average installations: 20-40%
- Upgrade kits are available for most Side-Power thrusters with special adapters
OVERHEATING PROTECTION
Detect when internal components become too hot. When an unsafe temperature is detected, the switch automatically turns off the unit to prevent overheating.
FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION
Our Thrusters are designed to allow installation at any angle on the tunnel and the motor at various rotations on the bracket. The installation flexibility of our propulsion systems is created to work with the space you have! not the space you need.
ANALOG
Sleipner analog signal cables with plug-and-go connectors are color coded to match wiring diagrams with high quality connectors to ensure proper installation.
GALVANIC SEPARATION
The gearbox and drive legs are completely galvanically isolated/separated from the electric motor and motor bracket. This ensures that even if an accidental short circuit or other power loss occurs, the immersed parts will not be affected as they would be with direct electrical contact.
- Achieved by composite bushings around the bolts and under the washers and a bushing in the engine bracket that electrically isolates the transmission housing from the engine bracket.
- Available only on DC electric models with flexible couplers, where the flexible coupler provides galvanic separation of the motor and shift leg shaft.
SEALED TRANSMISSION LUBRICATION
Sealed shifter leg with long-lasting "mechanical" seal where highly polished ceramic and carbon surfaces are the only moving sealing surfaces, providing protection against damaging water ingress into the shifter leg. Pre-filled with special gear oil for lifetime lubrication.
- "Mechanical" seals with ceramic and carbon surfaces for maximum safety against water infiltration
FLEXIBLE COUPLING
The flexible coupling between the electronic motor and the drive shaft protects both the electronic motor and the gear systems if the propeller becomes stuck or clogged.
TWIN PROPELLERS
The twin propeller system can provide more thrust than a single propeller system for the same tunnel diameter. This is our choice for our mid-range models where high thrust is required in a small diameter tunnel. Due to their compact design and high performance, twin models have become the preferred propulsion system for boat builders around the world.
